Dry socket wisdom tooth?

i just had a thought, where i had my wisdom tooth extracted 2 days ago. the dentist put a stitch in. does that lessen my chances of dry socket?

  2. Yes it does.   Don't forget to keep rinsing with warm salty water, it will keep it clean.

    i never had a stitch in mine and i am still suffering extreme pain from a dry socket 14 days later.

  4. Stitches is just one way of reducing your chances of dry socket. It is basically put there to stop the blood clot from getting washed away by saliva.
