Dry suit needed to kayak in the ocean?

i am going to PEI this July to kayak and hope to hit the ocean. should i bring a drysuit along?

  1. if you have one then yes otherwise it is probably ok if you dont get one


  2. It is not a question of whether you need one or not. It is like asking if you need one to go surfing or not. If you one wear it, if you don't you should be just fine and the water should not be too cold.

  3. PEI? As long as its not the North Atlantic or Pacific you should be OK. Maybe a drytop, but that's about it. Especially if you are sea kayaking and not just surfing the waves, you'll be fine.

  4. If you have one,  bring it.  If anything goes wrong,  you'll be glad you have one.  I don't know how much the gulf stream affects the water temperatures there.  I do know that the water is always cold off the coast of Maine.  Prince Edward Island is further north so it could be colder.
