Canoe Repair-Drylock?

I have an old canoe that has been sitting in the back yard for years. I repaired some structural cracks with bondo, and am concerned that the compromised gelcoat will allow water to seep into the fiberglass. I don't want to gelcoat it...as it will be a runabout canoe. I don't care what the canoe looks like, and will be camouflaging it. I was wondering if Drylock will work to prevent water seepage. Thanks for your tips and input.

  1. I am not sure how DryLok will stick to the canoe.

    You may want to use a marine primer and a marine paint.  

    I know you are not looking for a yacht quality finish but to get an idea you may want to take a look here:
