My boyfriend and I just bought a house but are going to take all the panelling walls and drop ceiling out and put in all drywall. This is going in 2 bedrooms and a livingroom. Both bedrooms approx. 11x15 and the livingrooms is about 20x15. What kind of price range am I looking at. Prices and information would be helpfull. (Example: Price of sheet of drywall: $$)

Thanks!

  1. Based on those dimensions, I'm calculating that you need approx. 70 sheets of drywall.  Drywall is prob about $12-14 a sheet, so you're looking at about $900-1000, plus tape & mud & other supplies, which will probably come close to $300-400.  You'll also need lots of primer and paint, probably another $300-400 there.  If it's an older home, you should budget for any repairs that need to be done once you've ripped down the old walls.  You may also want to reinsulate any outside walls to increase your energy efficiency while you have them gutted.  Cost will depend on how many of the walls are on the perimeter of the house. My guess is it will cost at least $1800-$2000 to complete.  Lots of little extras that you didn't anticipate tend to pop up with these kinds of jobs
