Are you referring to 'dual degree programs'?

They are pretty much what they say they are although you usually are not required to complete the total credit hours for both degrees, the hours are reduced and because of this it generaly takes an additional year or two to complete the whole program.

If the dual degree program is offered in conjuction with two different schools, then you must meet the requirements for BOTH schools and courses to be eligble for to undertake the dual degree.
