I was born in the U.S. but when I was 4 I was taken to Guatemala for till I was 8. When I came back I remember my parents and grandparents talking about Dual Citizenship. The fact that I lived over there for that time, does that make it a dual citizenship???

i would call the Guatemalan consulate

  2. Normally, if you are not born in Guatemala, you are not eligible for its citizenship. However, if your parents are Guatemalans still, you might be able to apply for citizenship. Check with local lawyers and/or "INS" office in Guatemala to have the appropriate and updated information.
