Dual Irish/US citizenship missing marriage licence?

I am eligible. I have my paternal grandmother's (an immigrant from Ireland) birth and death certificate, my father's birth and death certificate, my birth certificate and my parents' marriage cetificate. All that is missing is my grandmother and grandfather's marriage certificate. There is no record of it in nj which is where it would be. It is possible they were never married. Where do I go from here? There are no relatives who would know anything about whether they were married or where it would have been. I just know it would have been in NJ.

  1. her birth and death certificate should suffice ,since you are claiming citizenship trough her and your father

would your grand-mother have been maried to an Irish citizen as well ? or US citizen ?

normally it is her birth and death certificate that would be asked.

on your father's birth certificate ? what is the name of his father ?

if your father only carry his mother's last name ? it is sufficient ,as long as she is (was) Irish .

C.1. Full, long form, birth certificate, that is, one which shows parents' names, places of birth and ages at time of birth. Note: Birth certificates which do not contain this information are not sufficient of themselves to establish a clear relationship to the parent.

    # C.2 Where there is a change of name, e.g. on marriage, supporting documentation must be provided, e.g. marriage licence/certificate.#

if she was married ? it would be mentionned on her death certificate and giving you the husband's name ? and on your father's birth certificate as well .
