I would like to re-new my Danish passport but would like to keep my Australian Nationality.

I consider myself half Danish and half Australian as I was born in Australia and grew up their but raised by my Danish mother who taught us Danish beliefs and way of life.

I want to be self-sufficient and not claim anything from the Danish government but would like to still have the passport. E.g For self-identification and travelling reasons.

I heard there is a EU passport for people who are in my situation, if anyone can please help me, it would be muchly appreciated.

  1. It sounds like you probably like to drink a lot of beer while you're smoking hash.

  2. An EU passport is really just a passport of a citizen that has the nationality of one of the EU countries. There isn't a special EU passport for people who can't have dual citizenship or a different one just because you are a EU citizen. The passports for citizens of EU countries bear the words European Union on the front. Basically (in your case) it would be a Danish passport.

Denmark prohibts dual citizenship. Because you are Danish by descent you can have Danish citizenship until you 22 and then you have to choose. Australia or Denmark.
