My partner and I are looking for somewhere warm for Christmas and New Year. We usually go to Florida or Egypt (Sharm) in winter. Due to work we have had no summer holiday and would like to go somewhere different. I have looked at trip advisor and some other sites but cant find out how expensive it will be to eat out etc, also our daughter who is 10 needs to be catered for are there any water parks and things to do for kids her age? I would be really grateful if anyone could help answer my questions, I love the what I have read about Dubai but it is my wee girl I am concerned about. Many thanks

  1. Dubai is a very nice city its good place for family vacation and it has one of the coolest water parks in the world.

in the middle east they call dubai Paris of the arab.

the wither is very nice in desember.

    injoy it

  2. dubai is very very nice, and has lots to do for kids but dubai is EXTREMELY expensive (i get a free room in the 7 star hotel, the burj al dubai, because of my uncle). the room is usually about $12,000 a night. there is lots to do for kids, but you dont have to look far. there are beaches, watersports and waterparks/amusement parks galore

  3. there is lots to do for kids try magic planet, wild wadi, dreamland (out of dubai but worth it).

Magic Planet is like an indoor amusement arcade but there are rides and stuff its great.

Wild Wadi is amazing, i've had my birthday party there for the past 5 years and love it. Its huge and very well supervised the life guards are friendly and funny.

I haven't been to Dubai recently as I now live in UK but i think the new disneyland style theme park is open so I would try there. There is LOTS of shopping and the weather is great about that time of year. Not too hot, not too cold.

However, it is very expensive to eat out. Try the red kitchen (i think) on Jumeriah Beach Road next to Spinneys. They sell amazing kebabs but not like the british ones these are proper handmade, good cut meat kebabs. Ask for a shwama. I think the food is mostly reasonably priced in Dubai however some are ridiculously priced and will rip you off.

Accommodation in Dubai is quite expensive i'm afraid but if you book into the Jumirah Beach Hotel (sister hotel to Burj Al Arab) you can get free entry to wild wadi! Also, at Jumirah Beach Hotel there is very good service, they offer desert safaris (not to be missed!) and there is a small water play area by the pool side.

Either way, i'm sure you'll love it. Have fun!

  4. I would be wary of taking ur daughter outside of the confines of the hotel and leisure areas.

Yes it will be warm but could you be happy in the fact ur daughter would have to be covered up when she is in public... and if you dont are u prepared for the dirty looks this backwards race of people will give to both u and ur family???

  5. in Dubai there is wild wadi for kids and youngs to enjoy

    Jumierah beach

There is one Park i think so near the Emirates mall there is dollfin show and more things but i forgott that name

Zabeel Park  is another good park where you take your child that whole park is reallly very beautifull

    best of luck

  6. There are many places you can go to have fun with your family. Also when it's Christmas and New Year, some places decorate the malls for the holidays. Check out some of the places you might like to go in Duba, to name a few :

    -Mall of the Emirates: http://www.malloftheemirates.com/

    -Ski Dubai: http://www.skidxb.com/

    -Wild Wadi: http://www.wildwadi.com/

    -Gold Souk: http://www.dubaigoldsouk.com/

    Enjoy xx

  7. I know there are lots of activites such as the wild wadi water park which is great for children.

Dubai is quite a "proffessional" country. Rich and more for the business kind which is why everything's expensive there.

  8. yes is very good there is lots for families to do, water park, snow dome, beach activities, parks, cinema, bowling. also its very safe there for children.  i lived there a few years ago with my kids who were born there and ranged in age from baby to 16 yr old.

ps dont take notice of dave j's comments yr daughter certainly wont have to be covered up, hes obviously never been to dubai, and they are safe there from crime and paedophiles. when i went there people did sometimes look cos of the blonde hair but i think most people are used to it now, if they do look its fascination not anything more  personally i think its a good idea to dress modestly when wandering round traditional souks etc because i have seen people in vest tops and skimpy shorts and they do attract attention.  my (now) adult daughter has been to sharm, dahab, alex and cairo and shes felt uncomfortable going out there alone even tho shes half arabic, but she has no worries indubai shes been there several times alone for conferences. so dont worry its fine and fun.
