Dubai Dynamo cruises to victory in Polyflor Handicap at Ayr
Dubai Dynamo is probably the busiest runner this season, but still the 7-year-old has been maintaining the highest standards of speed and stamina. The latest example of his brilliant work was seen on Monday night, when Ruth Carr’s charge ensured a classy
success in the Polyflor Handicap at Ayr.
The 3-1 favourite failed to make an impact early on, but improved his work significantly thereafter. He pumped up his speed in the middle stages to lead over 1f out. After getting in command, he stretched his advantage and outpaced the entire opposition
inside the final furlong.
Under P. J. McDonald, he was so quick in the final moments that the rest of the pack was completely unable to catch him. Following a splendid effort, the dashing runner secured the top rank by five lengths.
Karaka Jack also ran well to seize the runner-up spot. In the hands of Adrian Nicholls, David Nicholls’ trainee was impressive, but it was almost impossible for him to make any impression on Dubai Dynamo. Oriental Scot ended up third, missing the second
position by half a length.
It was Dubai Dynamo’s 16th appearance this season, and he ran mostly on soft and heavy ground. Despite facing a lot testing conditions, The Bottom Liners-owned has been doing a wonderful job since the start of the season.
The handler is quite happy with his charge’s progress, saying that a better surface helped the gelding unleash his best at Ayr.
“He's got away with the soft ground but a lot of these horses have been crying out for good ground. It suited him today, there's not such a long straight as there is at places like Ripon. PJ (McDonald) didn't want to let the one in front get too far clear
but he was always travelling,” said Carr.
He continued: "He's easy at home. He eats a lot and he races a lot, he doesn't do too much in between. He looks fantastic, he never seems to run a bad race and he takes his races really well. He loves going in the field every day."
Bred by T. K. & Mrs P. A. Knox, the son of Kyllachy still has a few entries in his hand. He is due to run in the Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap at Newmarket after Friday’s Delancey Handicap at Royal Ascot.
