Dubai World Golf Championship 2010 - Live leader board
Ross Fisher and Ian Poulter smacked a round of 9-under-par and surged to early lead by the end of the second round.
Fisher picked up eight birdies without dropping a shot and compiled the lowest score of the day. The veteran improved considerably from his last round in which he picked up three birdies against one bogey. The winner was chased by the winner of the USB Hong
Kong Open, Ian Poulter. The 34-year-old once again managed a spotless scorecard on the second day by carving five birdies.
One stroke behind the lead is world number one, Lee Westwood. The Englishman seems to be back on track after a 69 on Thursday. Westy teed off from the back and birdied two holes along with a bogey at the par-5 14th. However, on his way to the
clubhouse, old memories revitalized the defending champion and he picked up three successive birdies in the final holes. The veteran settled with a 67.
Three professionals took a share in the fourth place by drafting an aggregate of seven-under. Paul Casey, Martin Kaymer and Thongchai Jaidee made 67, 70 and 69 respectively in the second round to grab a share in the $7,500,000 purse sponsored by JP World.
Noh Seung-Yul fell from the second place and slipped to the eighth after missing five shots on Earth Golf Club. He was joined by Miguel Angel Jimenez, Louis Oosthuizen and Alvaro Quiros.
Graeme McDowell, who is second on the Race to Dubai, gave a terrible performance today with a 73. The Irish picked up four bogeys but could not counter them off and surrendered at 42nd place. G-Mac is eyeing the number one title along with the
bonus, but with a performance like todays, it is less likely that he will succeed.
The second round of Dubai World Championship has concluded and Martin Kaymer along with Graeme Mc Dowell has once again disappointed the audience. Ross Fisher and Ian Poulter have taken the clubhouse lead and chances are that out of the duo, Poulter will
continue with his charm. The veteran is on fire and his form seems to be in his favour.
