  1. 1 hour 15 minutes should be sufficient for transit in Dubai. I was there on transit in December 2007, and if I'm not mistaken, it may still be undergoing some upgrading work. You may have to take a shuttle bus from the aircraft to the terminal which took no more than 15 minutes (listen up to the announcement whilst on the bus, for the stop you need to get off at). Upon arrival at the terminal you'll have to go through a security check including taking off your shoes and belt. Just queue at any one of them as they all lead to the same terminal. Then you'll have to go up to the second level to check for your gate number at the information counter, if it is not already stated on your boarding pass. Then you should have some time to scout around to look for your gate.

But if the upgrading work is all done by now, then it should be even easier than that.

  2. I transferred in Dubai.  The airport  - in my opinion - was well organised.  We had a 3 hour lay over which was more than enough time.

Is your connecting flight also with Emirates?  If it is you definitely have nothing to worry about - same company, they want to get you on that flight!  :)

As long as you are just connecting flights - and not having to recheck in - I think it should be ok.  But don't hang about, get off the plane and to your gate straight away.  Also tell the air crew on your flight from London that you have a connection.  They usually will call ahead if there are delays.
