Dubious Miss hopeful about the $100,000 Col. E. R. Bradley Handicap on 21st January at Fair Grounds
The eight-year-old gelding, Dubious Miss of E Dubai out of Cryptoclover, is attempting to change the unlucky consistent pattern of the outcome of the races by winning the Grade 3 $100,000 Col. E. R. Bradley Handicap which will be raced on 21st January
at the Fair Grounds Race Course, over a distance of 1 1/16 mile.
After winning an allowance race on 21st June 2009, at Churchill Downs, he came second in the Grade 3 Washington Park Handicap on 5th September at Arlington Park, and the Grade 2 Kentucky Cup Classic at
Turfway Park.
On 31st October, he again won an allowance race at Keeneland, and dropped to sixth position in the next two races. He then was a runner up in the Grade 3 Fair Grounds Handicap on 20th February 2010, and
then finally posted a graded victory in the Grade 3 Ben Ali on 18th April, 2010 at Keeneland.
Ever since then, it was his last time coming first in a graded race.
Dubious Miss was a second in the last year’s Colonel E. R. Bradley Handicap with Gran Estreno being the winner, and Joinem finished third.
Last that Dubious Miss raced was on 16th December 2011, in an allowance race at Fair Grounds Race Course. If breaking free from winning just the allowances will be possibility for Dubious Miss or not is doubtful because of the
strong lineup that has been entered for the race.
It includes Suntracer, Mr. Vegas, Baltimore Bob, Heavenville Lonesome Street, Glenwood Canyon and the eight-year-old Strike Impact,
The four-year-old colt, Suntracer, trained by Neil Pessin has raced nine times during the 2011 season, out of which Suntracer has won thrice and has been placed thrice as well. There are no graded victories that are against his name as he won two allowance
races and the Woodchopper Stakes on 25th November 2011, at Fair Grounds Race Course which was his last race for the season.
Besides Suntracer, another one with a fresh victory in an allowance race is the five-year-old Mr. Vegas.
If Dubious Miss is capable of competing and defeating a lineup of this calibre is still to be seen.
