Dublin: I'm going there in September for four nights. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in the centre?

I do not want to pay more than £75 a night, preferably less.

Also, what are the best tourist attractions? we like museums and art galleries.

Is there a bus from the airport to the centre?

How much would a taxi cost from the airport?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Book your hotel well in advance, I don't know of cheap hotels in Dublin city centre (I stay with friends or family when I go there) but try your luck with this: www.hostelworld.com.

You should google the National Museum in Dublin, it has a few premises around the city, one is on the LUAS line near Heuston Station. The three main art galleries are the National Gallery, which is quite near Trinity College, and the Hugh Lane Gallery, which is near the north end of O'Connell Street, and the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Kilmainham, which is also quite near Kilmainham jail, and within walking distance of Heuston Station. There are loads of commercial galleries around.

Try local.ie for more tourist venues in Dublin.

There are many buses from the airport to the city centre, there's the airport bus that goes to the big city centre hotels, and the city buses which are a lot cheaper.

Hard to know what a tax would cost, as it depends on when you take it - rush hour times are more expensive, and the fare doubles when you use a taxi after 8 in the evening.

  2. loads to choose from check out some reviews from the source

  3. Hi, I love Dublin, i have stayed in Wynn's Hotel it's just off O'Connell St right in the heart of everything, it was B & B and was around 95 euros for a 2 night stay, i have also stayed in an apartment they were lovely as well.  Have a look at Hotel Finders Dublin, (they are situated in Abbey St i have seen the offices).  There is a bus Airlink from the airport it costs around 12 euros return.  Go on a tour bus they are around 14 euros it's a hop on hop off bus all day, they take you to all the main tourist attractions, Guinness factory is well worth a visit, at the top you get a 360 degree view of the city, and a free pint of guinness, it's amazing. You could go to the university and see the books of Kells, Henry St is fantastic for shopping, it's right at the side of the Post Office on O'Connell St, The Post Office is worth a visit as well it takes you back in time. Have a great stay,  oh forgot to say, there is a ghost bus on O'Connell St at night it takes you to the spooky side of Dublin.
