  1. travel to the southside, go to dalkey beautiful area where all the stars live. glendalough, powerscourt

  2. Dublin sucks, go to somewhere like Cork instead!

  3. Stay away from the manufactured 'oirish' nonsense of Temple Bar.

Anywhere else is mostly OK - avoid places tourists go.

  4. if going to dublin in ireland you must go to temple bar both for the young and not so young has a bit of everything fab place day or night

  5. Temple Bar and Guiness factory tour

  6. Are you actually staying in Dublin? Ive been to ireland a good few times, a couple to dublin and the rest have been in wicklow, a beautiful quiet town (apart from the pubs) it depends what you are going for, if you are going for a quiet break i would head towards wicklow, and be sure to visit the Fields of Avoca its truly beautiful, and near to where Ballykissangel was filmed, which is also a beautiful village and the locals are so friendly.......... dublin is also great, if you enjoy a lively nightlife and some great shops, ireland iss just fantastic and my facve place to visit as my boyfriends family are from wicklow.

  7. i'm from dublin, it's ok but it's just a city like all the others. if u are staying in the dublin region hire a car and go south to explore the wicklow mountains, right on dublin's doorstep, beautiful scenery, lakes mountains forests- go to glendalough, avoca, climb up tonlagee mountain and get a view of lough ouler its fantastic, or go north from dublin and visit tara, the boyne valley and trim. if u want real ireland go west, see the ring of kerry, get a boat to the skellig rocks see the burren and the cliffs of moher and listen to the best traditional irish music in clare. cork and galway are great cities,  have huge stretches of sandy beach all to yourself in mayo or donegal. dont pay too much attention to the c**p they tell tourists, get some reputable books and read all about it before you go so u can tell the truth from the blarney.

  8. Dublin is an absaloutly wonderful city, so much more beautiful than London. Full of sites like trinity college, the GPO, St. Stephens Green, Temple Bar, I love Dublin, dont think anywhere else in Irelands woth going to, accept maybe Donegal.

  9. The ferry or airport terminals to escape.

  10. The North Antrim Coast. Go up from Belfast through the Antrim Glens and along this stunning coast through Ballycastle, (great trad music and pubs!) and on to the Giants Causeway. Then head to Derry and over into Donegal. Forget Dublin it's a hole and wildly expensive. It's over rated and full of muggers, junkies and drunks. Go to the North and Northwest.

  11. Dublin Zoo, several shopping centres, Temple Bar, some lovely places to eat, and just generally lovely things to see :)

  12. you should go to Dublin Castle, its in Dame Street, so its in the city centre, they do a brilliant tour. The Guinness store house is good too, and not far from there is Kilmainham Gaol, which is fascinating.

Temple bar is ok for daytime, avoid at weekend nights, too busy. Go to bars around Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green area.

Thunder road is a glorified burger bar, but it is fun, depends on what you want.

Also there is a writers pub tour, basically all the pubs famous writers frequented, a good laugh, and will show you bars , other than temple bar, (which is an area, not just one pub)

  13. Oh god dont go to thunderroad cafe as suggested above. The winding stair in dublin is one of the best restaurants in dublin, good irish food! Avoid temple bar, only english hen parties go there. Up Georges st, Camden street are the best bars. I suggest Hogans, The Hairy Lemon, The village. Its a good place to go, though quite small. Good touristy place is the sky bar in the guinness storehous (skip the tour if poss though) also the jameson tower in smithfield. IMMA is a nice place to visit if you're into art.

  14. kilarney, dublin, northen ireland, cork, clare and knock

  15. dublin is a beautiful city. its got great shopping and nice bars and loads of history. whatever you do, if you wanna eat aomewhere cool, go to thunderoad in temple bar, it's amazing!

  16. I would agree with Billy

with my preference being the airport
