  1. O'Briens is my pub aways from home!!!

    Great craic on Saturday night!!

  2. Go to the bars off Grafton Street.  They are more favoured by many of the locals than the ones in Temple Bar and (in my experience as an English girl with an 37 year old Irish boyfriend) consequently you find a better atmosphere or craic.

You can always go clubbing in Temple Bar which makes it easier for getting back to your hotel.

Advice is also to pop into places during the day so that when it comes to night you're not just wandering around looking for something, you will have had a good chance to find something that suits you!  Try Keogh's.  It's on one of the streets off Grafton Street.  Grafton Street is the big shopping street on the South Side which is the same side as Temple Bar.  You can easily walk it in less than 5 mins from Temple Bar.

  3. First go to Nirvana in capel street, it is Ireland's biggest headshop, you  can get everything you can imagine there for mood enhancers, Nirvana is sandwiched between 2 s*x shops, both called Utopia,For great food at a good price check out what Rhodes D7 has to offer it is Gary Rhodes' newest restaurant and it just up the street from these shops.  Further up the street is Slattery's pub, a typical irish bar, great craic during a match.  For nightlife try to avoid the nightclubs in Temple Bar, they are just tourist traps, bad drink, non english speaking staff, expensive and generally poor quality. "Spirit" is an ok club, as is the "Kitchen", it is the club owned by U2, it is at the end of temple bar and parliament street, Lillies Bordello is where the rich and famous hang out, that's on Grafton Street.

Sunday night has a good traditional session in Nealons bar on Capel st.

But really I recommend going into Nirvana on Capel Street, the staff there are always happy to advise tourists where to go to have a good time.
