  1. The other colleges mentioned above are good, but for arguably the best nightlife you should also consider the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). Home of 15,000 students and considered the capital college of the west, with a reputation both as being very prestigious academically and also a hub of nightlife and student activity. Here's the website if you want a look and you can e-mail someone there or something requesting info I'm sure: www.nuig.ie. I go there and there's a LOT of foreign students... Americans, other Europeans on Erasmus... they all seem to have a great time.

So don't just listen to those Dubs, you certainly aren't limited to staying in the capital or Belfast to be guaranteed a good education and a good time ;)

  2. The best place is to live in South Belfast and go to Queen's University or commute to University of Ulster Jordanstown. Both of these universities have a large international student population as well.  You will have fun and be able to travel the country if you want.  Belfast also has great music venues.  Northern Ireland is more reasonable to live in as a student.  i was a student in Dublin and I did another degree in Northern Ireland, so i have experience student life both places!

I am not sure what  degrees they offer at Queen's University, but I went to UU and they have an MSc in Infomatics at Jordanstown.   They have an Master's degrees in Computing and Intelligent Systems or Computing and Finance or Computing with Information Systems Management at the Magee campus of University of Ulster in Derry.

Derry is a cool place too, it is in the northwest of Ireland.

  3. I think that Galway University is the best craic. My younger brother is on his 3rd year there and it is also in a great location and full of students and it is a safe, friendly place. I have stayed over there with his friends and I can tell you that I have had the funniest times of my life up there...the University is amazing too. You have the town, art festivals and beaches, and it is not as noisy and combusted as Dublin.

    I highly recommend it!

Check out their website for more info:

  4. I think the West coast would be the best craic - Galway, Sligo etc.  Smaller areas so more student activities.

The college though that would look best on your cv would be Trinity College, Dublin.

  5. got to agree with those saying national university of ireland galway.  Dublin is very expensive to live in compared to galway.

  6. Irelnad ... definitely!!!!

  7. In Northern Ireland the best place is Queens University in Belfast. like the person above said trinity college, it is the one you want on your cv. I did computer science in DIT, stay as far away as possible from that place lol.

In order Trinity College, UCD (University College Dublin, and DCU (Dublin City University) are the 3 big ones in Ireland, they also happen to be in Dublin. I don't live in Dublin so don't know exactly where they are. There's alot of people I know that I did it with, that only went to DIT because they couldn't get into DCU, they say that DCU is meant to be the best place to do a masters in computer science. or anything to do with the computing field.

  8. University College of Dublin - then Temple Bar! :o)
