I have been researching good sport bikes to learn on. I came to the conclusion that I wanted a Monster. I am not sure which bike will suit me better. I am going to take the MSF course.

  1. Unless you are quite well off, meaning you have a fat wallet, I would get a Honda or such for my first bike.

Reason is that you are almost certain to drop it once, and it will cost enough to fix a Honda let alone a Ducati.

Also the maintenance on Ducati is not for the

    small of wallet.

  2. What are the differences? They look roughly similar. Nice choices though ;)

  3. That's a pretty MEATY bike for a guy who hasn't even taken the MSF course.

As a first bike, it might be your last!

I suggest something a little less  'italian' for a beginner.

    Good luck to you.

  4. Wonderful but finicky bikes that require lots of maintenance, expensive hard to find parts and are not made for just casual riding. Do yourself a favor and get a used Suzuki SV-650. All the fun of the Duc without the headaches, hassles and costs.
