Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden looking forward to US Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden is all charged up for the upcoming Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix taking place at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit in California.
Hayden said, “Obviously, I’m looking forward to Laguna, because it’s a track I love that’s very challenging and fun, with a great atmosphere and my home crowd. Turn 1 and the Corkscrew are very technical, and pretty much the whole track links together.”
The American rider is excitedly looking forward to start the race weekend at California. It is one of the circuits that has blessed him with a couple of victories. Even Hayden’s teammate Valentino Rossi has been successful at the Laguna Seca with a single
win and three podiums on different occasions.
Hayden said, “On a MotoGP bike, there really aren’t any straightaways, because you’re always shifting, turning or braking. It’s important to have a bike that you feel confident on and can be aggressive with. I’m going to my home GP not in our best moment,
but we’ll give our best effort like always.”
The American rider continued to express his pleasure about the circuit and added that his two brothers race in the AMA Superbike series.
Coming back to his race preparations, he will decide on Thursday about the bike he will ride at the weekend. It is also likely that he will test the new GP11.1 at one of the three practice sessions. He will be aiming to score the best possible results since
the Laguna Seca race is one of the two home events for the American rider in the ongoing MotoGP season.
Ducati Team at Laguna Seca is aiming to develop the Desmosedici for the season ahead. Both teammates, Hayden and Valentino Rossi will test both versions of the Desmosedici, the GP11 and GP11.1 to sort out the issues with them.
After a disappointing finish at the Sachsenring circuit, Hayden’s teammate Rossi will be looking to change his plans for the US Grand Prix and will be boosted by the return of Jerry Burgess. Let’s see how both the Ducati riders fare this weekend.
