Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden pleased with the high spirits at Ducati – MotoGP news
Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden is delighted to know that the crew at the Ducati factory is still highly motivated to achieve good results in the second half of the 2011 MotoGP season.
The first half of the season has been really tough on the Italian manufacturer with a lot of struggle.
Kentucky Kid is heading to his second home event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 12th MotoGP round in the season. After the Brno round, Hayden arrives at Indy with seventh position in the world championship
table.
Nicky Hayden said, “I've been impressed. Nobody has lost hope. Nobody is complaining, pointing fingers. Really, everybody's just working to try and make it better, especially on my side of the team. They've worked like dogs to build new bikes, come in and
give us more options. Everybody at Ducati, they don't like losing, either.”
Hayden and teammate Valentino Rossi have scored single podiums each so far in the season. Meanwhile both riders have struggled to improve the GP11 but it went in vain. Rossi’s hard work resulted in the formation of the new Desmosedici, GP11.1. The new version
was rolled out at the Assen event by Rossi.
Since the Dutch event, the Italian rider has been pushing hard to improve and get along with his idea of 800cc fused with 2012 carbon fibre chassis. Eventually the idea paid off at Brno test with modified components for front end.
Hayden said, “I've learned a lot. You learn more about people when they are struggling than when they're on top. It's easy to smile and say all the right things when you're doing good and everything is rosy, but that's not exactly been the case for us this
year.”
The Kentucky rider said to his team boss Filippo Preziosi that after the hard teamwork at the Brno test he was impressed by the crew who focus hard on working regardless of time.
He further commented that crewmen work longer than their due work hours. Some of the engineers are always at back support to continue the work in progress. Hayden claimed it will prove fruitful in future.
