Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden says will be pleased to beat Valentino Rossi at Brno – MotoGP news
Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden has said that it would be a great feeling to beat the nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi at the upcoming MotoGP event.
Both Ducati riders are prepared to hit the track for Cardion AB Grand Prix at Brno, Czech Republic.
Hayden has been able to score a single podium in the 2011 MotoGP season. In addition, Rossi has not yet tasted victory with Ducati but has scored a third place at podium. Rossi is fifth in championship threatened by Ben Spies at sixth position as Hayden
is seventh on the points table.
Hayden said, “We're the only team with two world champions in it at the moment, so that's pretty unique in its own way and we still get along good. Me and him, obviously we want to beat each other, he's 14 points in front of me and it would be a big honour
for me if I could beat him.”
Hayden also added that Rossi holds nine world championship titles with his vast racing experience. The Italian rider has also somewhat marked a standard of performance through his racing era.
Hayden added, “I've learned a lot from him, and also that goes both ways. This bike has been new to him and he's not above asking questions and wanting to know why, and I think right now the results haven't shown.”
However, the Ducati Desmosedici has not been able to perform up to the mark as its rivals Honda and Yamaha have done, but Hayden feels the effort applied will pay off in the next season with 1000cc bikes.
He also added that having two teammates directed in the same direction is more beneficial than both running apart. With Rossi’s effort at Mugello, he suggested to create GP11.1 which holds a 2012 chassis with the present 800cc engine.
Although the results have not been successful but some issues have been sorted out. Reportedly, the main problem has been with the unconventional carbon fibre frame which has dropped the performance.
This type of frame has never been used before by any manufacturer in MotoGP. The rumours are also that now Ducati will change to an aluminium-based chassis as the Japanese contender.
