Ducati Team rider Valentino Rossi says winning at Motorland Aragon is tough – MotoGP news
Ducati Team rider Valentino Rossi has expressed his views about the upcoming 14th MotoGP round at Motorland Aragon.
He has said that winning at Spain is nearly impossible with the present GP11.1 race setup.
As a fact, he has clearly said that recreating the magical performance of Casey Stoner from the 2010 season at Aragon is an unachievable point at the moment. Stoner made a strong effort during the Aragon weekend last season to win the race in a stunning
fashion.
Rossi said, “I don’t think it is possible. Stoner arrived in Aragon and changed very much the way of his season. A lot of people say to me this bike won three of the last six races but for me I say this bike won three of the last 18 races of last year.”
The win was possible after the front set up was changed on the GP10 used by Casey Stoner. After the renewed setup, the Aussie rider was able to win three races out of last six events.
On the other side the Italian MotoGP star has claimed that he was unexpectedly riding in the second pack of the riders with few early changes, but it is difficult to win the race with such a bike. At the moment, challenging for podium finishes for Rossi
does not seem likely.
Rossi further commented on the effort of Stoner and said, “From that moment Stoner modified the setting and he rode like a devil and he made great results with nothing to lose and he made all or nothing. That is not a criticism of Casey because at this moment
I am not able to do like him.”
Now the Aussie rider is leading the MotoGP world championship chart with 35 points from defending champion Jorge Lorenzo. Meanwhile Rossi is hoping to stay closer to the top riders in the race and score decent points from the event.
Considering Nicky Hayden’s impressive performance last season, it might be tough for the riders to be fast this time.
