Ducati Team satisfied with Valentino Rossi’s effort for wins – MotoGP news
Ducati Team has expressed its satisfaction with the Italian MotoGP star, Valentino Rossi.
The Italian manufacturer has denied the rumours that sponsors are agitated from Rossi’s winless streak.
To date, Rossi has only been able to score a single podium finish at Le Mans in the ongoing 2011 MotoGP season. From ten races to the short summer break, the Italian rider has tried to improve his race pace. However, he has not been able to achieve expected
results.
Ducati Team Boss, Alessandro Cicognani said, “The first people that are not satisfied with the results are Ducati, Valentino and Nicky. All the partners are really supporting us. They know we are working hard and this is the only way we know how - working
hard and solving problems to get better.”
Cicognani further said that the team has no issue with the sponsors. He said the team is determined to work hard for progress in both aspects including on track and in factory. He further said the efforts made by Rossi and Hayden to improve the bike are
countless.
On Rossi’s demand after the official MotoGP test at Mugello, a new form of Desmosedici was created with the 2012 chassis, the GP11.1 which has not worked for the former champion as well as he was expecting.
Jorge Lorenzo commented about his former teammate at Yamaha squad and said, “The performance of Valentino has surprised me a little bit. I thought he would be more in front, at least making podiums. But at the moment he's only made one podium and that was
only because two riders in front of him crashed. Riders like Randy de Puniet or Karel Abraham are sometimes faster than him.”
Lorenzo further added that on the other side, Casey Stoner was much more successful with the Ducati team. The Aussie was able to score wins and fight among the top riders in premier class, whereas satellite Ducati riders were in constant struggle.
Former Ducati rider Casey Stoner moved to Repsol Honda for the 2011 MotoGP season. The Aussie is also keen to look for the problems faced by Rossi that has hindered him from fighting for wins this season.
