Ducati duo Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden all geared up for Brno event – MotoGP news
Ducati Team duo Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden are charged up to get racing at the 11th MotoGP event, Cardion AB Grand Prix, taking place at Brno, Czech Republic.
Rossi spent the summer break with his family and claims that despite it was a short break but was enough to gather himself for the next MotoGP action at Brno.
Rossi said, “Now we'll spend a nice mid-August at Brno - classic! Seriously, I'm always happy to go there. I like the track not only because it's very nice, wide and fast, and I've always gone well there, but also because it's a special place for me since
it's where I earned my first pole, my first win and my first world championship.”
Brno is the venue where Rossi collected his maiden grand prix win in 125cc class and in the following season, he secured his first world title at Brno in the same class.
The Italian veteran will focus on developing the GP11.1 setup during the race weekend practices and the post-race test. The main purpose is to shorten up the time gap from front end riders of the race.
Nicky Hayden also spent his holidays at home and a part of it in testing the newly paved Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Recently, Hayden rode at the IMS road course aboard a Ducati 1198 SP street bike. The infield section has been perfectly refurbished. After the short break, he is fully prepared to race at Brno.
Hayden said, “I'm ready to get to Brno now. It's a very different circuit to what we've been to for the last two races at the Sachsenring and Laguna Seca. Those are tight with short lap times, and Brno is definitely a big, open track.”
Hayden also said that it will not be easy to keep up with the fast rivals. It is because the previous two tracks were short in layout allowing low speeds but Brno is a free flowing track.
The Kentucky rider has shared that the team is working hard to achieve good results. Hayden has decided to ride the GP11 during the race weekend and test GP11.1 during the post-race test on Monday.
