Ducati rider Nicky Hayden to appear as guest at Isle of Man TT races – MotoGP news
Ducati team rider, the Jerez podium winner Nicky Hayden is confirmed to pay a visit as a special guest at the 2011 Isle of Man TT races.
The American winner of the World Championship title 2006 will be joining the legend and World title holder of 500cc Mick Doohan and the Ian Hutchinson who broke the TT racing record. All three will join in a parade lap sponsored by Arai on June 5.
The potential performer of Ducati and present teammate of Rossi, Hayden will drop the green flag for the second Monster Energy Supersport race and also present the trophy to the race winner.
Hayden is also excited to be at one of the famous street racing events the TT race. He has almost been at every motorcycle-racing event including Daytona 200, the Jerez MotoGP, the Anaheim Supercross and the Namur World Motocross, but could not be
at the Isle of Man TT races.
“The TT is just one of those events that every race fan wants to see eventually. I’m a huge fan of motorcycle racing of any kind, and I feel like this one is definitely something I’m missing,” he added. “People have always told me, ‘You need to go
to the TT,’ and now I’m finally going to get my chance and I can’t wait.”
Hayden is the record holder so far to be the youngest AMA Superbike Champion in the history, at the age of 21 years in 2002, the same year when he bagged a victory at Daytona 200.
The next year in 2003 held his shift to the premier class of motorcycle racing, MotoGP and won the Rookie of the Year title finishing the season at the fifth place in the championship. The following season he was at the third place in the world championship
and also won his first race in elite class at the in his homeland track of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The official visit of Nicky Hayden and legend Mick Doohan is in sequence of the previous successful star visit made by several time world champion Valentino Rossi and the 2010 world champion Jorge Lorenzo in June.
