Ducati riders Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden face difficulties at Aragon Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Ducati riders, Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden had a difficult day at the final day of Spanish Grand Prix.
Rossi made a mistake in the very first lap of the race. He touched the wheels of Jonathan Rea of Repsol Honda whereas Hayden struggled with reduced rear brake of his bike in the middle of the race. He suspects that this could have happened due to overheating
of brakes.
Rossi believes that his mistake in the very first lap of the Spanish GP is very shameful. He told that he touched the bike of Rea because the Honda rider braked a bit earlier. He added that he tried to avoid the contact and if the incident had not happened
he could have fought for the 6th position.
The Spaniard said, “In fact, things went better in the race than in practice, when we suffered a lot on acceleration both in the wet and in the dry. We made some changes after the warm-up, and that helped us to lap consistently at a decent pace for the whole
race, without using up the tyres too much.”
He added that they made some modifications with the bike which helped them in attaining consistent speed over the circuit. The Ducati rider is happy that they were able to achieve such settings which do not wear tyres out much. He believes that there is
a lot to improve in the Ducati machine and they should work hard for it.
His teammate Nicky Hayden told that he was struggling with the brake of his bike. He suspects that it happened due to overheating. He tried to push hard to keep the leading group in sight and in trying so he lost the control of his bike. He could see that
he was about to crash but he thought that if he jumped from the bike he will hit the wall headfirst.
Hayden said, “I was trying to keep the group in front of me in sight, but I pushed the front in the last turn. I was able to pick it up, but I came up on that wall really fast.”
The unlucky crash retired him from the race however he was lucky enough to face the incident safely. Let’s see how he performs in the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
