Ducati technical chief Filippo Preziosi affirms faith in Valentino Rossi – MotoGP news
Ducati technical chief Filippo Preziosi has expressed that they still have faith in their rider, Valentino Rossi regardless of unfortunate performances at the beginning of 2012 MotoGP season.
In this season, the seven-time world champion, Rossi has been seen very much less competitive as compared to the end of the preceding one.
Nonetheless, Preziosi said that they are feeling confident as they believe that if they will be able to build a bike for Rossi, it will be a great step forward towards the success of the team in the future.
“For sure this challenge is being done because we want to build a bike for Valentino, because we believe that a bike that Valentino likes, is a good bike for all the riders,” Preziosi told journalists at the abandoned Estoril test.
In addition, he said that they are making the best of the efforts which he admitted that are not good enough to compete with Repsol Honda Team. However, he said that they will push hard and will bring out the best in them so as to follow the guidelines of
the legendary rider, Rossi and reduce the gap to the front.
“We are following the direction of what Valentino suggests. Of course, we are trying to do that at the best of our capability, which is not enough right now to be faster than Honda. But for sure we will try in the direction that Valentino shows us,” he said.
Subsequently, he said that they have provided the chief engineer of Ducati, Jeremy Burgess with a complete freedom to develop the bike’s setup with Rossi which will be best suited approaching races.
Over and above, Ducati team have been trying hard to make the necessary preparations and the significant developments in order to improve the pace of their bike in the upcoming races so as to make their position stronger in this season’s championship.
It will be important to mention that despite facing difficulties in finding the true pace until now, Rossi appears to be very much positive for the approaching season and looking forward to deliver better performances in the next races.
