Ducati working on complaints made by Valentino Rossi to improve bike – MotoGP news
Ducati boss Bernhard Gobmeier says he will address the complaints made by Valentino Rossi about the Ducati bike during his two years Ducati career.
“One of the things we have addressed immediately is the communication between what is going on at the racetrack between riders, the team that is on track, and the factory. We have heard through your papers and online communication that this was always a
complaint of Valentino's, that there were some deficiencies. We have addressed this and we have found a way to improve this quite a bit in the next season,” Gobmeier said while speaking to AUTOSPORT reporters in Italy.
In his two years of MotoGP career with Ducati, Rossi was never comfortable with his bike. Ducati years were the career worst for Rossi. The seven-time MotoGP champion could not win even a single round and clinched only 3 podiums out of a total of 35 Grand
Prix races while riding for Ducati. Although Ducati are finally addressing the complaints made by Rossi but that will not do any good to Rossi because he will be riding for Yamaha Factory Racing in the upcoming MotoGP season.
2013 will be Gobmeier’s first season with Ducati. He is coming from BMW's Superbike program and has said that the racing team had welcomed his approach towards making improvements and trying to put Ducati back on the winning track.
“What I found is that everybody in the company is very positive about those changes and ideas that I have in order to work together in a more efficient way,” Gobmeier said.
It has been more than 2 years since Ducati won a MotoGP round. Australian Casey Stoner was the last Ducati rider to win a Grand Prix round in 2010. With the upcoming season close ahead, Ducati need to work fast and make all the necessary upgrades and improvements
to their bike.
Amongst other problems that need to be taken care of, Ducati need to address the famous front-end problems as well. Both Rossi and Stoner were reported to have complained about the front-end problem.
