  1. Sorry, you're a goner.  There's no antivenin available for duck-billed platypus stings, only the other kind of platypus.

  2. I think you should get that checked out.  I'm pretty sure it's not life threatening.  But I've read that the stingers can have the potential to kill a dog.

    >Please keep in mind, this is a wild animal, whether it was raised by humans or not.  The platypus was not bred to be domesticated like dogs and other usual pets.  If he is healthy and happy, these actions are normal and natural and should be handled positively, and professionally.  Not repressed.<  Realize, when you own a wild animal, YOU have to adapt to/provide for ALL of their physical and psychological needs.  NOT the other way around.

Before you make a decision to discipline an animal, make sure to research their psychology, comprehension, and social habits, ect.

A platypus is NOT a dog, so don't expect them to respond to you like one if you physically correct it.

  3. Apparently the only treatment is to minimize the pain.  A doctor/hospital could give you something stronger than you would have access to otherwise.

  4. Try using some powdered unicorn horn as an antidote.
