  1. not at all there fine that would just be the baby in side growing they should be fine

    good luck

    =)

  2. That would depend on the breed of duck. Muscovies might have some discoloration but Mallards should stay solid in color. Are you incubating them or just checking the Goose's nest?

  3. It does depend on the breed, one breed we had always laid eggs that appeared splotchy.

If you have been waiting for them to hatch it normally takes 28 days for incubation.

Try to get an egg candler, it is a special light that you place on the egg and you can see inside the shell.  Our kids love to watch the babies move inside the egg.  When you check the egg early into incubation you are looking for blood veins.

If the babies you are hatching are dark colored birds the eggs could be ok.

We have an incubator in our house that is rather large, I once put goose eggs in it for someone else and they were bad and blew up, I'm quick to throw out eggs that are not bad because of that, It is nasty to clean up a spoiled egg that explodes and the house smells like sulfur.

When the birds are hatching the eggs themselves I leave everything to them and let nature take its course.  The birds will usually eat any infertile eggs in the nest. But I have had a bird set on a nest of infertile eggs also that explodes outside but at least it wasn't in the house.

Try to find a candler I think we got ours from Pine Creek Game Farm in Iowa, or it might have been called Johnson game farm in Iowa.
