  1. Usually, with a baby duck, if its put in a place where its dark and dry, it will quiet down and go to sleep. If you cover your box or whatever you keep it in to make it dark (make sure there's still plenty of ventilation!), it should sleep. If you want to make it tired to sleep, then let it swim about in a bucket of lukewarm water. It'll enjoy that plus help it clean itself in the water, which is vital for good health.

I don't know what to tell you about the other stuff. The more its exposed to noise, the less jumpy it'll be about such things. Although, ducks are birds and aren't really 'calm' animals. lol. Good luck!

  2. Ducks sleep when they feel like it.  You can't make one sleep when you want it to.  I have always put a small stuffed, fluffy animal in with my birds and ducks.  They enjoy cuddling up to it.  At night I always covered the tub, or tank, what ever it was I keep them in.  When ducks hear noises, they usually wake up.  At night I always put mine in a spare room and made it dark.  They always slept all night.  Sleeping with a duck is very unsanitary....they c**p where they lay.  ..

  3. wherever you have your duckling .. make sure it's comfy is the first thing ... have a few Little teddies for it to cuddle up to .. like brothers and sisters  ... also give it a hot water bottle so it'll be warm .... and cosy or a heat lamp .. or such such although that'll produce light .... hmm . .

as for noise that'll just keep it awake ..... cover where it is sleeping (plenty of ventilation of course) and place it in a dark quiet place.  . . . ie in a spare room or something?

I had the same problem last year lol but it's all good now .. the Little duckling grew up and is now in bed with his big friends in their shed =]

and BTW someone said put it in a bucket of Luke warm water DON'T do that .. it'll get all excited cos ducks love water and will also get wet and cold very easily.

    good luck =]
