OK this is a good one...

I feed ferral cats near my house, have been doing this for 2 years now. Recently though a group of ducks that belong to a nearby pond have been coming and rading the area and eating the food. How do I keep them away?

When I feed I stay and make sure the cats eat but at night sometimes I know strays come looking for food so I always leave dry food out for them by the ducks eat it all.

  1. I can honestly say, I know exactly where your coming from.  I also feed several TNRrd feral cats and I live along a canal that has a couple Muscovy ducks.  I assume the Muscovy's are the ones your talking about, because they can be very aggressive and fearless of everyone and everything.

Luckily when the cats are fed at night, the ducks are no longer around and I don't have to worry about them.  If its during the day, and  the ducks notice me, they will charge up to where I am start eating the cat food.  What Ive been doing is buying a separate bag of cracked corn that I feed the ducks.  They sell it at PETCO.  I usually feed it to them a good 50 yards from where the cat food is.  These ducks seem to prefer the cracked corn and after eating it, they just swim off.  I also only feed them if they notice me and start to approach my house.  I guess im in a better situation then you are, since the ducks only associate food  with me and they dont approach my feeding area unless im spotted.  I know its not really a solution, but its worked for me.  Good luck
