  1. they just need to get used to each other, OMG so cool, i want pet ducks!!! awesome!

    good luck

  2. It may take time. You shouldn't put passive chickens in with aggressive ducks because they will peck at it. I have 8 chickens and 1 is passive so we keep her in a cage by herself, when she gets out they all attack her.

So if you notice the ducks doing it more and more you should take her out, or get a rooster.

  3. We have always raised different breeds of birds together, Turkey,Peafowl,duck,chicken,guinea,geese...

When you bring a new bird in they always seem to establish a pecking order, I would keep a close eye on things. we had more of a problem with the chickens than other birds. Hope all goes well for you.

I would hate to say it will pass and all will be fine, If the female duck is aggressive is she of laying age?  Does she have a nest started? that could be her issue and you may have to separate the chickens from her. Our Pekins were just so passive and I have no experience with the other breed they are crossed with.  It should slow down in a week or two though.  Sorry not much help was it.

  4. I have had ducks, I had  2 ducks and brought a new one in the picture, and these ducks were pecking all the time, its really just the pecking order then want to show eachother who is boss, when a new duck or hen comes in the picture they feel threatened to after some time they will get along my ducks did (2 females one male) they got along great!

  5. you should not keep ducks and chickens together. they each may carry diseases that will not harm their own kind, but can get to each other through sharing water and food.
