Dude there is a fly about the size of two bumble bees in my room. Is that normal?

Umm... It's like one bumble bee would be it's bottom half and one would be its top half (which includes its head). And it's butt is kinda pointy. What exactly is wrong with it? It's like a horsefly on steroids.

It's probably pregnant. Once my friend smashed this huge fly and a bunch of her babies came flying out .. disgusting ... you should trap it and let it outside.

That's way bigger than any horsefly if your description is correct.  Sounds more like a large wasp or something.  Also, there is no way that that girl's friend smashed a pregnant fly and small flies came out of her -- baby flies are maggots.

Perhaps it's just a large horsefly? I live in the middle of a 3 1/2 acre wooded lot in Central Illinois, and we get HUGE ones like that knocking up against the window of our house all the time.

Is there any way to get a picture of it to show us?
