I'm due in 4 days with my son. I already have a 3 yr old daughter named Gianna Rose...and my name is Shyla Marie...so I wanted a name for my son that isn't common but has a flow to it like mine and my daughters do. My mother has her heart set on me naming him Gage, she's already got my daughter calling him that. And my husband likes names like Kane, Kingston, Ocean, and Zeke. My father wants me to name the baby after him, and his name is Joseph August, but I have so many people making suggestions that I feel like I need to pick a name that will please everyone including myself...and I'm going crazy! Time is running out, does anyone have any suggestions?

  9. I absolutely love:

    Kingston Gage Joseph Mazzaferro

    I don't like:

    Ocean or Zeke

  10. maybe....

a first or middle name you like with jake in it.

that way its the  "j" from joseph."a" out of gage. and "ke" from zeke.

i like that because it takes a little from everyone and you get to choose a name that makes you happy also.

congrats and i hope you have a beautiful and healthy baby boy.

  11. Yikes! That's a lot of suggestions! Lol. I got lost.

Okay, Gage is cute, I like that too. Joseph is a good name too. Out of your husbands list, I only like Kingston. Kingston Gage sounds really neat.

However, it will upset your father because Gage is the name your mother chose and his name isn't there. So I think, If you are not adding Joseph or August to the baby's name, then Gage shouldn't be added either, just to be fair.

    EDIT:

I totall agree with smartypants!! Joseph Gage sounds so cool!!! And it flows well with the family member's names and is sounds really good with Mazzaferro.

  12. Kane Joseph Gage is adorable.

    What do you like?

    Gage Joseph Kingston.

    :)

  13. I think  Joseph August, Shyla Marie, Gianna Rose, & Kane Donovan sound awesome! They flow perfectly together and are great=] good luck!

  14. First off just do what makes you happy! ignore what other people think besides your husband because it's his kid too!

A good way to combine them is Joseph Kane

    Joseph Gage

    Zeke Joseph

    Kane Kingston

or none of the suggestions at all and please no one so everybody just as disappointed to begin with

  15. mykel? how is ocean pronounced? ocean like the sea or o-shawn?

either way i like it. i was just askin a question for a boy name with o that was unique.

if you want 3 names go for it. my baby girl has a long name.

kezi Kayedon'a Lee wallace, not for everyone I kno but it made every one happy. kaye-aunt middle name don- sister middle name, pronounced it like caydon with an a at the end. lee was for every one else since their middle name was lee.

  16. I really like Kingston Joseph Mazzaferro and Kingston August Mazzaferro. They both seem to fit your criteria: honouring your father, sounding great with your family's names, and using a name that your husband loves. Kingston is a really handsome, stylish name that you cannot go wrong with. I can totally see a Kingston & Gianna being siblings-- both names are quite hip and sophisticated. With the name Kingston, you could always use the nickname Kane. I don't think that's too much of a stretch.

I don't think that you should go with the name Gage. It's not as handsome as the names your husband likes, or your dad's name. It sounds terrible that the name is being pushed on you. I don't like the names Gianna and Gage together. I think it's overbearingly 'cutesy' that they both start with the same letter. Additionally, when I say 'Gianna and Gage' it can sound like 'Gianna engage', which is really odd. If you really *must* use Gage, use it as a middle name. Kingston Gage Mazzaferro sounds good. However, I don't think using a name that other have been suggesting is as important as using a name your husband loves or honouring your father.

Just remember that what you name your son is up to two people: you and your husband. First and foremost you should find a name that you two both love. Secondary to this is honouring your family. The names Kingston August and Kingston Joseph do this. You've got a handsome first name from your husbands list; a cool, contemporary nickname; a middle name that honours your dad and a name that flows well with the others in your family.

To find more name suggestions, you can use Nymbler. Nymbler is an internet tool that suggests names according to your own personal tastes. If you can bear to sit down at the computer for a little bit, the site is worth having a look at. You might surprise yourself by finding a new name that you and your husband fall in love with. Here's the link: http://www.nymbler.com/

If name meanings and etymology are important to you, then I'd suggest the two websites below. I've found that they're the most accurate on the internet, and just as good as any baby name book.

    http://www.babynamer.com/

EDIT: You can do two middle names, but I think it's a bit much. Gianna might feel left out considering she has only one middle name. I think that you should always give your kids the same amount of middle names, just for fairness sake.

  17. Honor your dad and name him Augustus Kane- you can use the nickname of Gus.  I love that name!  Maybe use your husband's middle name if you don't like Kane.

Edit: I also like Augustus Anthony - it goes with Gianna Rose very well.

Edit: So your mom isn't going to honor the decision you make and call him by his name - that's helpful.

Edit: Don't give a child with such a long last name 2 middle names.
