I'm an exceptionally bright 16 year old girl in New York City. I went to live with my aunt for my 7th and half of my 8th grade year in another state, and when I came back home, the high school placement testing was over. I am now in the 10th grade.

  1. Private schools will normally accept students at anytime. They only survive through "bums on seats" and rarely refuse any paying customer.

Whether it is a better school or one in which you will really feel at home is another question. You should do some research first before you commit yourself.

Consider the curriculum, the ethos of the school, the social aspects and the expectations that will be placed on you, A change of school might not necessarily mean private school but good luck!

  2. "Is there a way to apply to private school midyear?"
