Due to the 2012 prophecy, many questions are going around regarding what we can do to make our planet healthy.

Question

Although we can't stop it, we should still take into consideration that there are many reasons for the world ending because of how we have treated our own planet.

I recently read up on the General Electric's website (http://ge.ecomagination.com/site/index.html) and from what they have on there, there appears to be a ton of inventions and ideas for making better decisions with our energy creation and consumption (most of which is greenhouse gas reduction). There have been a lot of windmills and solar panels set up everywhere, but there seems to be no interest in expanding this idea.

What I don't understand is this.

With as much development and support this company has had, I don't see why there is no difference... Would it be because the government has no intention of taking advantage of those developments? Or is it because there isn't enough money or support in the expansion?

Don't know, I was just inspired today that's all lol. Just thought I'd ask for opinions.

I imagine there are several reasons, But lets consider a cure for cancer. Sure, maybe a good thing....at least to us..the citizens and consumers. But consider from a bureacracy and governmental point of view. The industry of "prolonging life" would come to a grinding halt. Developemental medicines that don't work and companies invested in cancer curing would go out of business over night. The medical industry would be turned on its ear, many jobs would be lost, many bancrupcies would insue. Not saying I agree with the politics but that is a economic disaster that the Government can't allow to happen due to the upheaval that would be caused in the country. On the other hand, the average person has a right to question this philosophy since there are people out there dying and hurting...all to protect the economy ? There is a balance.....but..personally I don't trust the Government to keep that balance due to the way they've screwed up so much in the past......no matter who was president.

This same senario can be played out in any sector or industry, however, electric cars for instance ? Those have been invested in and developed for decades...and we still haven't had one put on the market that's actually affordable to the general public ? It hasn't been til recently that the Smart car was available. So sure, some might be attributed to Corporate greed, some due to complacency of changing things, some due to the Government pulling back on the reins to ensure America doesn't have an upheaval. And since nothing is coordinated, its all one big domino effect of something changing, and causing an effect down the line.

Now I hear a guy named Pickens on the radio ...too many times I might add...whining about the same initiatives of solar, wind, etc. but he claims more realistically than most that it will take 10 years to get things together. It would have only taken 10 years to build more refineries and oil derricks but Bill Clinton veto'd the effort and with one stroke of the pen, made America more dependant on foreign oil.

Oil is'nt the demon, its just the most efficient source of energy we have. It puts out more work in the right places for less capacity. Ethanol is a pipedream. Ditch it. If anyone can come up with something better, by all means, bring it up, but don't tout your bad ideas, lofty illusions or such that its the future. you can't put a windmill on your car. I've yet to see an all electric car with built in solar panels. I don't see any efficiently run Bio-reactors....And in all these "ideas", where's the pay out ? This research has been on-going for decades, unknown largely by the American public. Big oil, car companies...all have been donating money to research. Yet congress in their failed attempt to do their job instead of harress the president seem to get a free ride and point the fingers are everyone for not doing something, yet they haven't done anything either except demonize, spread BS, rumors, and attack people. They seem to be in session less than 1/2 the months they attend and accomplish precious little for our country. So put the blame where it belongs, develope the most promising technologies but be fair to condemn it if those initiatives aren't measuring up, and stop the endless banter between green and unclearn...because the smarter people involved know the lies and exaggerations already, we just need to figure out which is more profitable and rewarding and then take action.

It is good to know that there are people who are concerned about our environment.  But have they thought about God who may be responsible for the changes in the weather, the bush fires, the drought, the famine, the mysterious diseases, etc.?  He may be giving us signals or warning signs for our waning regard for His kingdom.  So we better wake up.

But do not worry.  Do not be scared.  I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day.  Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.  

Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700.  He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet.  This is in agreement with what I heard and learned from the Holy Spirit—that there will only be about 144,000 around AD 2200, peace reigns for a thousand years till around AD 3200, and the release of Satan to test the descendants of the elect for about 500 years, and then the end will come.

The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia).  It will be the end of the Mayan calendar’ 13th Baktun cycle (13.0.0.0.0) to start a new cycle.  

In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.

But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.

This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to h**l. This is very scary – to live in h**l forever.  If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.

Did you know that in his or her boredom, “Thanks for reading this” theorized in Yahoo Answers, Religion & Spirituality section, that 2012 is 20 + 12 = 32, the approximate age of Jesus when He was crucified and died?  I answered that when Jesus died, He was really 32 solar years old, equivalent to 33 lunar years.  Details are in http://www.geocities.com/peacecrusader88...  I believe that this is one sign that God is warning us of the impending catastrophe around 2012, like the end of the Mayan’s calendar cycle.  But I repeat, it is not the end of the world yet.

What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war.  This “calamitous war” (as Nostradamus called it) will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular.  The Spratly Islands lie on the southeast part of the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines.  The Holy Spirit told us that the Philippines is the wick of a gas lamp.  Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow.  He told us about this prophecy about two decades ago.  He said that the troubles in the Philippines will spread to the whole world until mankind is almost annihilated and a few will remain.  Spratly Islands is being claimed wholly by China, Taiwan and Vietnam; and partly by Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines,  It is considered a tinderbox, a flash point.  It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait.  The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.

After the calamitous war, then we will have a new age, a spiritual awakening, an enlightenment, and peace for a long time.  The population would have been reduced by a third and there will be much arable land that will be available.  People will be living in planned cities and communities.

Isaiah 35:4 (KJV) states: “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.”

The only thing that is going to happen in 2012 is that the central constellation of the Earth will change to Aquarius. The Earth ending is not based on any solid scientific evidence.

The number one thing you can personally do for the planet is to stop eating meat. Giving up meat for at least once a week has huge benefits. Giving it up altogether is better than quitting driving!
