I know the Logical people would say "that's impossible" given our Army to supress it.

But trust me - A LOT of people are at the Breaking Point with their Opposition.

...and the Extremists in Both Parties just feed the Fire.

So - Is there a POSSIBILITY ??

Isn't destroying the U.S. from Within what the New World Order wants, Anyway ??

  1. I believe "wire and string" said it best.

To explain further - ask people who are fed up if they have ever even protested. The likely answer is no. Our Media is bombarding us with images of, not "protesters," but "rioters." We don't see the large groups of formal protest unless the protest breaks out into a riot.

In 2004 in New York, we saw 80,000 people attend the republican convention in NYC. We never heard word one about the protests that were happening outside of the convention center. Although we did hear about some "rioters." Those stories concerned some 300 individuals who were locked up one night for disturbing the peace.

We never heard word one about the 249,700 other protestors who were calmly voicing their opinions against Bush.

What this is doing is training our young adults to sit back and accept rather then doing something about it. Nobody wants to be seen as a "rioter." And protestors = rioters thanks to our media coverage.

The Liberal Media is a false construction of the Conservative Machine.

  2. I don't see it happening yet, at least not because if ideology.

If we continue with our economic problems, we could face a period like the sixties and early seventies.  However, we do still have a representative national government, and we do have state governments.  And I do not see one large issue, i.e. slavery/states' rights, unifying any geographically-defined portion of the United States in order to make that sort of split.

Yes, there have been civil wars in China, the Soviet Union, and Korea, and there are ongoing civil wars in many countries in the world.  And it would be a mistake to discount the possibility totally.

However, I believe there is more that unifies the bulk of Americans than is represented by the marketing types in either the Republican or Democratic party.  It is their job to make their brand recognizable and identifiable as different from competitors'.

  3. No, its just the problem with political parties. George Washington saw the problem, which is why he didnt really warm up to the idea. Ever since then, people have been arguing about issues with the nation. And abolishing slavery for southerners was like taking religion away from them. We're a nation that learns from our mistakes, but still has a lot to learn.

  4. our outward partisonship is exceded only by our inward apathy.

    (as a populace)

  5. No, because really its all rich white guys lol. I think they are all in bed with each other and there is enough disenchantment within both parties to keep things the way they are, however I don't think the Democratic or Republican party will exists forever.

  6. if we were to find out that certain corporations (Exxon, BP, etc) had suppressed good technology to keep us dependent on oil then we could very well have a rich vs poor civil war.

  7. it will not be a civil war....it will be a war on the government..

people can only be kept down so long..

a revolution will be worse...there is a question. how much longer..

  8. No, I don't even think it's even close to that. I've seen many times when "revolution" was much more likely and didn't happen. Our country has seen harder times and people are not nearly as active now.

In the 60's and 70's there were many more inequalities - check out the Detroit race riots of 1967:

IMO, if there was going to be anything like this, it would have happened when we went to Iraq. A lot of people were divided over that, but nothing like vietnam.

More people may be speaking out now, because it's an election year and it may make a difference.

  9. I don't see it actually happening as far as a huge stand and war goes. I do however see a rise up being possible and it either helping us or causing the U.S. to start to fall apart. Now, do I think it is going to happen... NO. Let me give you some facts. People in the U.S. want to cry and bit-h about gas prices and the economy. I am from the U.S. so I understand that it is a bit harder today to make it buy and spend the way I use to but we haven't even touched our past problems as a country. If you do some research you will see that in the 70's the same thing happened in the U.S. The stock market fell, housing busted, and gas sky rocketed. If you compare our dollar to what it was then and cost of living, we haven't touched what it was then. We still could have gas go up a few dollars before it would compare to then. So, I personally say that people need to just hunker down, ride it out, and stop crying! There will be no Civil War. There will be no major recession. It is normal for this to happen every 40-50 years.

  10. there is no possibility.  to make this more clear, think of comparing the current partisanship to the sectional differences that preceded the civil war in 1861.  slavery was a driving force, but the more underlying reason why the South seceded was because they felt as if they weren't part of america; that they were so alienated from the north b/c of their different economies and in general their different outooks on life, which touches upon the slavery issue.  the civil war was mostly contained on the east coast, even though texas had also seceded and california and oregon were still part of the union.  the most interesting thing about the split, is that it was so neat and even; there were no southern states that stayed in the union and no northern states  that seceded.

today we dont have that even split; it is impossible for all the red or blue states to just seced since they are all mixed up.  another thing is that politics change all the time.  the south used to be  a democratic stronghold and in 1964 completely switched to the republican side.  however the sectional differences in the early 19th century dated back hundreds of years and were ingrained in america.  but as i was saying, politics change, and counties, states, and even politicians change their views and partisanship.  so while there may be extremists on both sides, they are such a small and fickle minority, that a civil war will never happen.
