Dueling Dom likely to win Breeder’s Derby – Sunland Preview
Dueling Dom seems to be the hot favourite runner on the Sunland card, and he is likely to finish first in the New Mexico Breeder’s Derby race which will be held at 4:43 PM on Sunday, March 25.
The Justin R. Evans-trained gelding is geared up to compete against Hesarider, Damayorofclowntown, Doctor Spencer, E. Bar Way, I Do My Own Tricks, That’s Who, Rio de Dinero, Crusher Lane, Zenon’s Star and May Weather.
For $110000 of prize money, eleven horses will run on One And One Sixteenth Miles long track.
The reason why Dueling Dom stands above all is a couple of sterling performances which the young runner delivered in his last two outings.
After bagging the maiden victory of his career on December 22, 2011, the dashing horse went on to accomplish a runner-up rank elegantly in his last race on March 4, 2012.
These two glaring feats have perked up the confidence of the gelding to a great extent along with establishing him as a favourite sprinter for today’s race.
Overall, Dueling Dom has run for six times to date since making his debut in October 2011. Along with the above-mentioned starts, the maverick horse also performed well in the other four ventures.
At this moment, the talented gelding is awash with winning momentum which will surely help him thrive today. His chances to finish first in the Derby are as high as 90 percent.
Among the other ten runners, Crusher Lane and Damayorofclowntown are supposed to show decent runs in the race.
Crusher Lane started his career in March 2011. The J. Owen Bringhurst-trained gelding too has just one triumph to his credit. He bagged his first and last victory in September 2011. The veteran runner finished fourth in his second last outing in December
but failed to perform confidently in the last one on March 4, 2012.
On the other hand, Damayorofclowntown has been in good form since last few months. The O. Dwain Grissom-trained gelding accomplished the only win of his career in November 2011. He went on to perform convincingly in the two subsequent outings.
By and large, the Derby is going to be a rip-roaring competition. Let us enjoy the action and see how Dueling Dom manages to thrive. Good luck to him.
