Duke Of Rainford to return to form in 1stsecuritysolutions.co.uk Handicap at Nottingham
Michael Herrington’s 5-year-old speedy charge, Duke Of Rainford, was second to Crimson Queen in last year’s edition, and can hopefully return to form in Nottingham’s 1stsecuritysolutions.co.uk Handicap, taking place on Friday, August 17, 2012.
The 5-year-old has been struggling with his form since the start of this season. He was sixth in the 17th August Is Ladies' Evening Handicap earlier this month.
Ridden by Tom Eaves, the Michael Herrington-trained made a wonderful finish, but since he suffered plenty of mess in the beginning, it was very difficult for him to get a notable place on the table.
Returning to Nottingham might work as a morale booster for him, and he just needs to deliver his one hundred percent to put his journey back on the winning ways.
He is going to face a dozen speedy runners in today’s 5f13y event, which will be kicked off at 15:15 GMT. The ultimate champion will walk away with a handsome cash prize worth £1,617.
Adventure Story is not in good shape these days. The 5-year-old was awful on her previous two starts, thus the punters should look elsewhere for the winner. Arch Walker showed decent form ahead of the latest trouncing. One can afford to forget last time,
and take a calculated chance on him.
Speedyfix could be vulnerable off 5lb higher. Canadian Danehill is a veteran runner, but since the recent form is not good, one must think twice before putting money on him.
Irish Girls Spirit cannot be ignored, despite 4lb higher. The 3-year-old has been performing consistently over the past few weeks. After narrowly missing the gold medal at Catterick, Paul Midgley’s trainee continued the good work to finish among top-3 at
Ayr last week. Her consistent run is likely to attract a lot of punters.
According to our calculations, Irish Girls Spirit and Duke Of Rainford are going to battle hard for the first position. The latter has sweet memories at this venue, and will be pumped up with confidence. So, the punters can expect him to do better than what
he did last season. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
