Duke Tip SAT scores?

Hi, I took the SAT test in 2007 as part of the Duke Tip program. My essay score was six. I was wondering how common it is to score a six. I was also wondering if an overall score of 1170 is an okay score for taking the SAT test in seventh grade. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Oh, by the way I am going in to ninth grade next year.

A six out of 12 is slightly below average, but you're only in 9th grade so don't worry. I took it in 7th grade too and got something ridiculous like a 940/1600 back then. I'm not sure if 1170 is out of 1600 or 2400. If it's out of 1600 great job but if it's out of 2400 you need to study. But don't worry about it for another 2 years. I eventually got that 940 up to a 1410/1600 (excluding my writing score).
