Dull throbing pain above a cavity?

I have this dull throbing pain above a cavity that just started yesterday, Im going to the dentist on thursday to get it fixed. But my ? is is it to late to get it filled b/c i cant afford a route canal so that would leave me with one option extraction

if pain has started, its time for a root canal treatment. You should have gone earlier to the dentist for the filling.

That's a Q for your dentist -- usually he'll take x-rays and should be able to determine the extent of your problem with them.
