Dum Blonde upsets Nanis Rocket in William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes at Newcastle on Feb 1
Dum Blonde’s strong performance was enough to earn her a comprehensive victory in the William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes, hosted by Newcastle on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
The 480 metre long Grade A1 event commenced at 13:12 (local time). Carrying the odds of 2 to 1, Nanis Rocket came out on the track as the most favourite hound of the race.
However, Dum Blonde superb show outplayed the rest. A good start steered her to a dominating position, and the black b***h retained her lead throughout in the competition.
J. J. Fenwick’s trainee led the race all the way through, clocking the distance in 29.31 seconds. Droopys Vieri’s daughter out of Castleview Lady was too quick that nobody could give her a hard time. She sealed the top position by five lengths, winning
a cash prize of £118.
Droopys Figaro was next in the list. J. Wright’s trainee was forced to check and thus, it was almost impossible for him to defy the triumphant hound. Westmead Joe’s son out of Droopys Chelsea kicked off his run from the second stall, carrying the winning
chances of 5 to 1.
Despite the fact that the black dog failed to surpass the champion b***h, he managed to preserve the runner-up place by a length’s margin, covering the area in 29.71 seconds. Canny Caleb finished third on the points table. The black dog, Ballymac Maeve’s
son out of Canny Keepsake, was unlucky to be crowded in the early stages of the race.
Despite that P. Rutherford’s trainee quickly catapulted out of the mess, but even then he wasn’t in a position to challenge the top-2. The 6 to 1 odds holder took 29.79 seconds to cross the wire.
Nanis Rocket was unable to perform to expectations, seizing fourth place in the list. S. Ray’s trained hound got crowded in the middle, and conceded 29.97 seconds to wrap up the proceedings.
Droopys Mahers sent at 5 to 1 and Denwill Snowy, the 3 to1 choice locked last two positions, respectively. Droopys Figaro’s group-fellow, Droopys Mahers, made it to the finishing line in 30.03 seconds. It was a disappointing outcome for Denwill Snowy
– for someone with the second highest odds in the race.
J. J. Fenwick would have been delighted and disappointed at the same time. One of his trainees, Dum Blonde, topped the chart whereas the second one, Denwill Snowy, completed the order of finish.
