in the upcoming season.
Fletcher had a poor first year as India’s coach, but the Zimbabwean feels that he’s yet to give his best, hoping to achieve far more success than his record shows. In April last year, the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 captain took the assignment to coach Men in Blue after
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 had resigned following the World Cup triumph.
The 63-year-old had a very successful stint with England, becoming the first foreigner to coach the Poms, and oversaw a revival of English cricket under his watchful eyes that led the Englishmen to their first Ashes victory in 2005 after 18 long years.
However, his time with the Asian Giants hasn’t been so fruitful since he took over. India slumped from being the world’s No 1 Test side to no.5, while suffering back to back Test whitewashes in England and Australia, further failing to reach the finals of
consecutive ODI series this year.
“I’ve had a couple meetings with the BCCI president and they went well. I had another meeting with the president this morning, and from my point of view I think it went very well.”
“We had a good chat for about an hour and a half and hopefully, from my point of view, everyone has accepted a set of views. We’ll just have to see what happens in the future,” Fletcher said before his departure for Sri Lanka.
To a question about having trouble with the Indian players, the former all-rounder said that he’s enjoying an excellent working relationship with all the players, especially with skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028.

“We’ve hopefully got some plans to turn things around. There’s a lot of intensity in what they’re doing. Hopefully they can maintain that, go forward and turn things around,” told Fletcher.
