Dundee United keeper not worried about facing Rangers
Dundee United goalkeeper Dusan Pernis says that he is not worried about the prospect of facing Scottish Premier League champions Rangers. Instead, he claims that there are much more important things in life to him.
Rangers travel to Tannadice for a league game against United on Sunday 28 November on a hot streak, having scored 44 goals in just 14 games.
Striker Kenny Miller alone has netted 18 league goals, and so the United rearguard have their work cut out if they are to claim a positive result against the Ibrox club.
But Pernis, who has been with the Tayside club since January, claims that it is just another sport to him, and isn't fretting about facing the on-fire Rangers attackers, as football isn't worth worrying about.
He told reporters, "Do I feel any nerves? No, not at all and I never have done. But that's just me. In football there is no pressure. I don't feel it anyway because there are a whole lot of other things far more important in life.
"I have a young family and everyone is healthy. For me, that's the most important thing and all I have to worry about. Playing Rangers isn't something I'll lose sleep over. I approach it just the same as playing Hearts or Kilmarnock. The game will take care
of itself so hopefully when it comes we can get the result we're looking for."
United are currently in sixth place in the SPL table and will be looking to take at least a point from the game as they aim to catch up with third-placed Heart of Midlothian (who are seven points ahead of the Tangerines), and grab a UEFA Europa League qualification
spot, while emulating their strong finish of last season.
