a host of clubs in a race to secure the player’s signature.
Goodwillie, who was awarded the Scottish FWA Young Player of the Year 2011, could make his debut for Blackburn Rovers as soon as this weekend. The Rovers are set to take on Kilmarnock in a pre-season friendly and the young Scot could play a role in the match.

Premier League.
Goodwillie said while speaking to reporters:
“I think it’s a massive stage to further my career and there’s no better place to play than the Premiership.”

League.
However, Goodwillie revealed he expected a bumpy start after his transition from the SPL to the Premier League. He said he was looking forward to the challenge and hoped to make a positive difference for his new side.
Goodwillie continued:
“I think the first few games it will be difficult for me to settle; it's probably a better standard (than the Scottish Premier League).
I'm just looking forward to the challenge.
It's exciting. It's really exciting.”
Dundee United were understandably disappointed at having lost out on the brilliant young striker, they confirmed the signing on their official website and thanked Goodwillie in addition to wishing him luck at his new club.
Goodwillie said he was confident Blackburn Rovers would have a successful season under the new owners Venky’s, who have suffered much criticism for their lack of signings. The Scotsman was certain the Rovers would manage to do better this season.
He said:
“I think this could be a really good season for Blackburn.
The new owners are exciting and they want players and I'm looking forward to playing under them.”
