Question:

Dunlop M-fil Upgrades?

Hi, I'm currently looking for a new racquet, because I had cracked my old one, Babalot Pure Drive. My coach introduced me to a new one, the Dunlop M-fil 200. I was wondering if there are upgrades to this? I've heard of the 300s and 400s and etc etc, but I've been hearing that they are actually different and give different feel than the oldest ones. So my question is, are there upgrades? If so, do they give much difference to the 200 version?

Thanks always.

  1. Not sure what you mean by "upgrades".  If you mean more powerful models, then yeah, the 300, 400 etc. would be what you mean.  When you are looking at Dunlop racquets, the lower the number, the less power it has built-in.  If you've used the Pure Drive, then you can handle a heavier racquet like the 200 or 300 series.

If you mean newer racquet than the M-fil 200, there's the Dunlop AeroGel 2-hundred.  It's very similar to the m-fil, by the numbers.  The aerogel is supposed to play a little more comfortably than the m-fil, though.  Other than that, they kept the aerogel 2-hundred the same as the m-fil 200.

  2. I'm currently using a M-Fil 200.  It's a great racket for my style of play http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpage... .  The M-Fil 200 is actually an older model.  The newer Dunlops are actually the Aerogel.  The Dunlop Aerogel 3Hundred is similar to the M-Fil 200.  Check out this page for all the different Dunlop rackets -> http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/DunlopRa... .  Good luck :)

  3. The M-Fil 2 Hundred is a 2006 model. I still have a few left. The newer model is the Dunlop Aerogel 2 Hundred. Same racquet with Hot Melt and M-Fil technology but space-age Aerogel is added at key points for strength.
