Duntle determined to seal second straight success at Leopardstown
Keeping in mind the sweet memories of her last successful trip to Leopardstown, the David Wachman trained chestnut filly, Duntle, will produce another winning performance at the same venue when she runs the Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies & Mares) on Saturday, September 8.
The high-voltage race, that offers €123,500 to winner, will go over 1 mile with the three-year-old novice filly competing against 10 worthy rivals. The surface is good that suits well to the brilliant sprinter who has achieved more than her age.
Duntle debuted in November 2011. She looked to be impressive in her maiden outing as she finished 6th against 17 rivals.
Wachman opted to school the filly for polishing her skills further. After an extensive drill of almost five months, Duntle staged a stunning comeback in April 2012 and broke her maiden by winning the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3yo Fillies Maiden.
After finishing fourth in the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial (Group 3) (Fillies), the talented daughter of Danehill Dancer out of Lady Angola marvellously notched up top spot emphatically in the 17-runner event of Sandringham Handicap (Listed Race) (Fillies) during the gorgeous Royal Ascot event of June.
Then the Niarchos Family owned fantastic filly grabbed an amazing triumph at Leopardstown. That was the Desmond Stakes (Group 3), held on August 16. Thus, Duntle is well- familiar with the track she has to run over today.  However, the surface is going to be somewhat different this time, but she will handle it well.
The only potential threat to the filly is Emulous whose profile is adorned with victories. The legendary trainer D. K. Weld’s bay mare has won 7 of her total 12 starts so far. From May 2011 to May 2012, she elegantly accomplished four consecutive triumphs with one at Leopardstown.
The maverick mare finished 7th against a dozen of rivals in her last outing entitled as Windsor Forest Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies & Mares) that was one of the Royal Ascot fixtures.
During the last two months, Emulous went through taxing training. Thus, she is likely to make a strong comeback today. So let us be ready for a heated action.
