Duntle to post her debut graded success through the Platinum Stakes (Listed Race)
Getting the widespread acceptance as being the most promising entry for the Platinum Stakes (Listed Race) is the three-year-old filly, Duntle. The mile race at the Cork race course has attracted a line-up of eight three-year and above participants. With
€26,000 prize money at stake, the registered runners will attempt to take down the 15 to 8 entry.
Danehill Dancer’s daughter has only raced four times throughout the career and three races out of those starts fall in the 2012 campaign. The chestnut filly made a successful entrance into the season by clearing her maiden on 18th April, 2012
in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3YO Fillies Maiden at Dundalk over a mile.
Paired with jockey, Wayne Lordan, the ride made all and drew clear when there remained the final two furlongs. She took charge of the track one furlong out, finished impressively with a staggering margin of eighteen lengths.
Qualifying as the runner-up was, Miss Forde, while joining her the quickest on the other side was the favourite entry, Zariyna.
The three-year-old Irish filly out of, Lady Angola, then ended fourth in the Group 3 Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial on 13th May, 2012 at Leopardstown over a mile.
The race was won by, Yellow Rosebud, while the second place was filled in by, Devotion.
This was the only graded attempt of the David Wachman trained so far as today she will give it the second shot of the career.
Owned by the Niarchos Family, the three-year-old Irish chestnut filly won the Sandringham Handicap (Listed Race) on 20th June, 2012 at the Royal Ascot over a mile on good surface.
The favourite entry was paired up with jockey, Wayne Lordan. She raced satisfactorily in the midfield and made an effort with two furlongs out and was the undisputed leader when entering the final two furlongs. Pressure from the reeling in rival, Arsaadi,
made her escape defeat by just half a length’s margin.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Ladys First.
The Airlie Stud bred will ride in companionship with the same jockey, Wayne Lordan, and the duo will take up the challenge from the sixth stall.
