Duo of Alvent Yulianto, Hendra Aprida advances into semi-final of the Swiss Open
The Men’s doubles team Alvent Yulianto-Hendra Aprida of Indonesia thrashed their rivals Goh V Shem-Teo Kok Siang to advance into the semi-final of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold on March 16, 2012.
They earned the right to be in the top four teams of the event by clearing quarter-final test with favourable figures of 21-15, 12-21 and 21-12 in the end.
The Japanese pair Naoki Kawamae-Shoji Sato will be their opposition in the semi-final tussle on March 17, 2012.
The Indonesian Men’s doubles experts played a swift knock against V Shem-Kok Siang as they took just 38 minutes to register a 2-1 victory over their rivals.
The partnership of Alvent Yulianto and Hendra Aprida fetched the best result in the opening game as their coordination was supreme in registering a notable score of 21-15 in their favour.
The World Number ten pair pushed their Malaysian opponents to back foot with their powerful attack and did not allow them to step forward on the score board. Their six points lead in the final score was the proof of their authoritative knock.
However, the duo of V Shem and Kok Siang did not stay down in the following game and stood to their full stature. They bagged the crucial second match point and levelled the lead.
The newly formed couple forged a staggering chemistry while outclassing their rivals with a significant margin of 21-12 in the end.
However, it was just a temporary thunder as their opponent duo Alvent Yulianto-Hendra Aprida did not allow them to rise from the dust and stormed back in the decider.
The Indonesian couple kept their rivals on the lower side as they pocketed 13 points with their smashes only. They stole the limelight by registering 21-12 score on the board.
This third set win concluded their convincing 2-1 victory in the quarter-final and they moved on towards the semi-final contest with the Japanese pair Naoki Kawamae-Shoji Sato.
Indonesia has now ensured its presence in three semi-finals of the Men’s doubles, mixed doubles and Men’s singles categories in the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2012.
